  • Your feedback and questions since last week include:
    • A question was asked several weeks ago about which policy determines that departments cannot cover parking costs for employees. This information is in OHSU Policy 07-20-005, which states: Institutional accounts are not to be charged for parking furnished to Employees for personally owned automobiles. If there are additional questions about this policy, you can reach out to commute@ohsu.edu.
    • An ask was made to add home addresses to electronic paystubs as some vehicle insurance policies require their clients to provide paystubs with home addresses. This ask was shared with the Payroll team and more information will be shared in the next week in the Leader Essentials email digest.
    • One member asked if the “Introduction to Employee Benefits” course could be added to Compass, which was shared with the Human Resources teams that coordinate training and benefits, and we'll share more information in next week's Leader Essentials digest.
    • Another person provided feedback about potential bias in the examples used in the Workplace Violence training. For the Workplace Violence training, the key point in this example is to remember to label and report the violence, not the patient or person, so that it can be prevented. In the specific example named, a patient has come out of anesthesia with a violent reaction and injured one of their care team. There is no judgment upon the patient, but it is critical to document and report the injury so that work can be done to prevent that harm in future cases.
    • Feedback was provided that there needs to be more manager training around Paid Leave Oregon or PLO and how to properly administer it. This feedback was shared with the Benefits and Payroll teams. You can expect more information in the next two weeks in the Leader Essentials email digest.
